Tongkat ali can be consumed as extract, or one can prepare one's own tongkat ali tea (which basically is a fresh extract from which the water has not been removed). Some people also argue that the less processed a natural substance, the better its efficacy, and thus prefer chipped root or root powder.

However, unlike tongkat ali extract, tongkat ali chipped root and root powder are not sterile. Thus, the raw consumption of root powder is not recommended. The traditional preparation in Indonesia and Malaysia is to boil chipped roots as a tea. A standard dosage would be 50 gram of chipped root per person per day.

For an alcoholic extract of chipped root or root powder, no prior sterilization would be needed. A small amount of roots would just be inserted in a container of alcohol. Best suited would be a low-price, high percentage vodka.

Because a substantial portion of the price for orders of chipped tongkat ali root or root powder are simply shipping expenses, orders are only accepted if they are paid by direct remittance to a bank account of a service chain we have recently started to use. Bank accounts are available in the US, the UK, Germany, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia

For some countries, the importation of chipped root and root powder is easier than of capsules. Australia and New Zealand may require a physician's prescription for capsules, while chipped root and root powder can be freely imported as both are considered forest products rather than processed pharmaceutical products.

For shipments of capsules to Western and Northern Europe, customs may occasionally request proof that health supplement capsules containing tongkat ali are currently sold in the respective country. No such reference is needed for tongkat ali chipped root or root powder.

For financial transactions, direct inland payments are always the cheapest solution. Because our company is located in Indonesia, payments through credit cards and online payment processors would add about 20 percent to the cost.
